Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Show - Day 6 - June 2, 2010

Today made up for yesterday weatherwise - all the tents were open, and mine looked especially clean due to the heavy rains yesterday. I guess that was the silver lining from yesterday's storm.

I got around to more winners today:
MERIT AWARD
Helen Duckworth for "Midori"
Helen Duckworth has a great tree behind her booth on Calhoun Street where she sits - the kind of  tree that makes me not want to get up and out of the shade, but Helen did come into the sun for me to get a photo with her winner.  Helen is a Renaissance woman; she is also a poet, and Piccolo Spoleto is sponsoring a poetry reading by Helen at its Sundown Poetry Series at 6:30 p.m on Tuesday, June 8 at the Dock Street Theatre, 135 Church Street - Go and enjoy - it's free!

HONORABLE MENTION
Deanna Bowdish for "Ripple #16"

This is Deanna's first year in the Art Show, and when she's not in her tent, I'm sure she's getting a suntan because she's not around any trees...She lives in Beaufort so she knows the score on the heat and humidity.

When 5 o'clock came today, I was in the right place in the park - artists love picnics, fellowship, laughter and especially sales!

Come on down and join the fun!
