Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition 2013 - Friday, May 31, 2013 - Day 8

Merit Awards Part II

"River Oaks" by Madeline Dukes

"Shadow Riders" by Paul Rossmann

"Abundance" by Mary Grayson Segars

I know this is 5 Merit Awards and I said 4 yesterday.  Most people know math is not my strong point.

Double Duty
Steve Jacobs is also the Business Manager for the Charleston Artist Guild

Having just finished the yearly dues mailing to over 600 members, Steve's work does not stop just because he is in a 16-day outdoor art show.  And he's smart, too - making sure the mailing goes out while artists are selling at outdoor shows...

Taking a break.

More Lolling Around
Jan Sasser enjoys the shade!

After the show ended at 6 p.m., I ran to a friend's house downtown, changed clothes and headed over to First Baptist Church on Church Street (where else would it be?) to meet my family for the First Baptist High School Graduation of my 18 year old niece, Ashley Whaley.

Ashley Whaley with Diploma and Award

I can't remember the name of the award she won, but she received this silver bowl.  I am so proud of her!  There were 38 graduates and the Class of 2013 leads the school with the highest SAT scores in it's history (First Baptist School was founded in 1949).  This class received a total of $3.1 Million in scholarships.  Ashley received 4 scholarships!  You go, Girl!
