The Fourth of July Edisto Parade
Watercolor

Collection of the Artist
Edisto Beach started an annual parade on the 4th of July when my nieces Ashley and Melissa were little. It consists of bicycles, tricycles, wagons and golf carts, all decorated to celebrate Independence Day. This is Melissa when she was 3 (she's 14 now...). I had gone to the Edisto to check out the "great parade" that Ashley kept talking about. It takes a grand total of about 10 minutes - most of the excitement is getting everyone in line and then at the end, because as Ashley says, "The best thing about the parade is that you get a cupcake at the finish!"
God Bless America and Happy Fourth of July!
