Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Show - Tuesday, 5/27/08

Well, I went to work at the law office today and enjoyed the air conditioning while Pat Creighton, below, handled my booth in the heat but under the umbrella - Pat has worked my days at Courtyard Art Gallery for 14 years, and she's a God-send.

Pat is also a people-person, and she make look familiar to you, even if you've only been in town for the last few days because Pat, ever since she retired from teaching, volunteers and works at lots of different venues, in addition to ushering at all the best Spoleto events! She normally works for me 3 days each week during the Piccolo show and saves me a few days of vacation. She has a great family and truly special pets. Tomorrow if we're lucky, we'll meet "Mr. Pippin"!

When I return to the park this afternoon to relieve Pat and close up shop, I stop to chat with another artist in Courtyard Art Gallery, my good friend Christy Crosby, who is taking a break from her oil painting. Most of her larger originals were snatched up by collectors this weekend - she paints incredible landscapes that bring beauty and a sense of peacefulness into a room. I understand she's been working diligently today to generate new originals for the remaining days of the show - what a wonderful dilemma!
