Shrine of the Book
Jerusalem
Today we started out with the fabulous model of Jerusalem in the 1st Century that is at the Israeli Museum, then we went into the Shrine of the Book, the top of which you see above - this part of the museum was built to house the Dead Sea Scrolls and the top resembles the jars the scrolls were hidden in and found in the 20th century at Qumran.

Image 11x14"
Framed Plein Air Gold $400
This was painted last month at a Wednesday evening Worship Service at St. Andrews. I was studying the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134) as preparation for this Israel trip, and this painting was a response to Psalm 122 v 1-2:
I was glad when they said to meThe Lions' Gate is the entrance to the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, which our group walked today in the Old City.
Let us go to the house of the Lord!
Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem!
